Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how AutoIntel (“AutoIntel”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use the AutoIntel Android application and related services.

AutoIntel provides tools designed to help users make better-informed used-car purchasing decisions, including vehicle information, reliability information, comparisons, evaluations and related features.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use AutoIntel, we may process the following information:

Account information:

  • Email address
  • Display name, where provided
  • Account creation date
  • Last login date
  • Authentication provider and associated account identifier

If you use Google Sign-In, Google may provide AutoIntel with information associated with your Google account, such as your name, email address and profile photo.

Passwords used for email/password authentication are not stored in plain text.

3. Vehicle and Evaluation Data

When you use AutoIntel features, we may store information related to your activity within the service, including:

  • Saved or favorite vehicles
  • Recently viewed vehicles
  • Vehicle evaluations
  • Answers provided during vehicle evaluations
  • Generated or unlocked reports

This information is used to provide the features requested by the user and maintain the user's AutoIntel experience.

4. Device Identifier

AutoIntel generates a random installation identifier (“device ID”) to support application functionality and internal service operation.

This identifier is generated by AutoIntel and is not your phone's hardware identifier, IMEI, serial number or advertising ID.

The identifier may be removed when the application is uninstalled.

5. Internal Analytics

AutoIntel uses limited first-party analytics to understand how certain application features are used and to improve the service.

Analytics may include events related to the vehicle inspection/evaluation process, such as:

  • Viewing the inspection mode screen
  • Selecting an inspection mode
  • Opening inspection help
  • Viewing inspection sections
  • Viewing an inspection summary
  • Completing an inspection

These analytics may contain an event name, device identifier, user identifier when logged in, and timestamp.

AutoIntel does not currently use a third-party advertising analytics platform to track general browsing behavior within the application.

6. Crash Reporting

AutoIntel uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes and improve application stability.

Crash reports may include technical information such as:

  • Crash stack traces
  • Device model
  • Android version
  • Application version
  • Crashlytics installation identifier

Firebase Crashlytics is provided by Google.

7. Firebase and Google Services

AutoIntel uses certain Google and Firebase services required for authentication, security and application operation, including:

  • Firebase Authentication
  • Cloud Firestore
  • Firebase Crashlytics
  • Firebase App Check / Play Integrity
  • Google Sign-In

When Google Sign-In is used, information such as your Google account identifier, email address, display name and profile photo may be processed as necessary to authenticate and maintain your AutoIntel account.

Google processes information according to its own applicable privacy policies.

8. Server Infrastructure

AutoIntel's backend infrastructure uses Google Cloud services, including Cloud Run and Cloud SQL.

The primary AutoIntel backend and database infrastructure is hosted in the European Union, in the Frankfurt region (Germany).

Technical server logs may contain information such as IP addresses and request timestamps. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and service operation and are generally retained for a limited period.

9. Local Storage

AutoIntel may store certain information locally on your device, including:

  • Session authentication information stored securely
  • Device identifier
  • Language preference
  • Market/region preference
  • Display preferences
  • Onboarding status

Sensitive session information is stored using secure device storage mechanisms where applicable.

10. Advertising

The current version of AutoIntel does not contain a third-party advertising SDK and does not use the Android Advertising ID for advertising.

If advertising is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the relevant Google Play disclosures will be updated accordingly.

11. Artificial Intelligence Services

The current version of AutoIntel does not send user information to external generative AI providers.

If external AI services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those services are made available.

12. Payments and Subscriptions

The current version of AutoIntel does not currently process payments through an integrated payment SDK.

If paid subscriptions, in-app purchases or other payment functionality are introduced, the relevant payment and privacy disclosures will be updated accordingly.

13. How We Use Information

We process information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Authenticate users
  • Provide AutoIntel functionality
  • Save user preferences and application activity
  • Provide vehicle evaluation and reporting features
  • Maintain application security
  • Prevent abuse and excessive automated requests
  • Diagnose crashes and technical problems
  • Improve application reliability and functionality
  • Provide customer support
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

14. Service Providers

AutoIntel relies on service providers where necessary to operate the service.

Google provides several infrastructure and application services used by AutoIntel, including Google Cloud and Firebase services.

These providers may process limited information as required to deliver their respective services.

AutoIntel does not sell users' personal information.

15. Security

AutoIntel uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.

These include secure authentication mechanisms, encrypted network communications, secure storage for session credentials, database access controls and rate-limiting/security mechanisms.

No online system can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable measures are used to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

16. Data Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations and resolve legitimate operational issues.

Some technical server logs may be retained for approximately 30 days.

Account-related information is retained while the account exists unless a longer retention period is required by law.

17. Account and Data Deletion

Users can request deletion of their AutoIntel account and associated data.

Account deletion is available from within the AutoIntel application through:

When an account deletion request is completed, AutoIntel deletes account information and associated user data from its primary systems, including relevant authentication information, saved vehicles, history, evaluations, evaluation answers, reports/unlocks and associated analytics information, subject to information that must be retained where legally required.

Deletion also includes the associated Firebase account and Firestore user record where applicable.

18. Children's Privacy

AutoIntel is not designed specifically for children and is intended as a vehicle-information and used-car decision-support service.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances prohibited by applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when AutoIntel features, infrastructure, service providers or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this website with an updated “Last updated” date.
